East Jakarta SDA Builds Channels in Three Different Locations

The East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency is building water channels in three different locations. It has been carried out since yesterday.

Drainage Development and Improvement Division Head Tengku Saugi Zikri expressed that those channels were precisely built on Jalan Al Baidho 1, Lubang Buaya along 674 meters using U-Ditch concrete measuring 60x60 centimeters and 80x80 centimeters.

Then on Jalan Pagelarang, Setu Urban Village along 575 meters using U-Ditch measuring 60x60 centimeters and 80x80 centimeters, as well as a box culvert measuring 60x60 centimeters. As well as on Jalan Malaka, Munjul Urban Village with 571 meters long using U-Ditch measuring 60x60 centimeters.

This Year, 20 New Channels Built in East Jakarta

"It aims to anticipate flooding when it rains," he expressed, Thursday (5/19).

Before the work, his party was checking the existence of existing utilities along the area where the water channels would be built. The utilities in question included fiber optic cables, Telkom cables, PLN electricity cables, clean water pipes, and tree roots.

"We have transferred the existing utilities to a safe point thus it does not have an impact on the construction of these channels," he closed.
